Step in the place and you will be welcomed by the interior decor, reflecting some Borneo traits- from the lamp to Rafflesia decor on the wall, as well as Borneo products (specifically referring to the Rice Wine) on display. There is also a corner dedicated to their artisanal Chocolates and Pastries. There are various flavors for the Chocolates but all of them are luxuriously silky smooth with deep and complex flavors.

The mains are equally interesting with influences from the Borneo, specifically Sarawak. The Sarawak Kolo Mee Laksa is marriage between classic Kolo Mee and Sarawak Laksa but both blend in very well. The broth remains as the usual peppery Sarawak Laksa broth but instead of Vermicelli Noodles, Kolo Mee is used. The broth is authentically rich and expertly seasoned. Another Sarawak's most popular indigenous dish- Ayam Pansuh, is also available at Dré Coklat. Ayam Pansuh is a Chicken dish traditionally cooked in Bamboo with Herbs. Dré Coklat's rendition is aromatic and earthy, the seasoning is spot on with light and comforting broth. Good on its own but most would enjoy with Rice for tummy-filling purposes.

Another brilliant dish that should be in your radar would be the Kachama Carbonara, a cross-cultural dish between the Italian Carbonara with a Hakka delight from Kuching- Kachama Chicken. The herbaceous factor is brought into the creamy Italian pasta, offering a unique earthy touch to the dish... something that you would not be able to find elsewhere. For side- go for the Satay with Gula Apong. Unlike the classic Malaysian Satay with heavy nutty element (from Peanuts), Dré Coklat's carries a smoky-sweet flavor from the Gula Apong.

The creativity does not stop at the mains but extends to the desserts as well. Dré Signature Bamboo Cake with Lemang has moist Chocolate Bamboo cake stuffed with Lemang (Glutinous Rice) and served with Gula Apong. The Glutinous Rice offers a contrast in texture while the Gula Apong offers a smoky-sweet touch to the cake. Something that you would not be able to find elsewhere.
