Tamafuku is the latest addition to I-Santorini, offering a unique Japanese dining experience. The setup of the restaurant is very Japanese, with a Tatami-dining room in the middle of the restaurant. The menu is very much Onigiri-focused (Japanese Rice Balls) with an array of traditional Japanese sweet treats like Daifuku, Dango, Warabi Mochi etc. Prices are reasonable for individual unit but if you are trying a variety of the dishes, the bill can be hefty.

Simmered Minced Chicken Onigiri (Rm 8)/ Salmon Onigiri (Rm 12)/ Shio Onigiri with Seaweed (Rm 6)

3 Kinds of Side Dishes (Rm 10)

Strawberry Daifuku (Rm 12)

Mitarashi Dango (Rm 13)

Kuromitsu Kinako Ice Cream (Rm 13)

We had 3 different types of Onigiri and they were made to order. The Rice was warm so the Seaweed crisp did not last. The Onigiri was lightly seasoned and definitely comforting. We recommend the one with minced Chicken, for greater flavors and better texture. Diners can also top up to enjoy side dishes for Rm 10 but the portion was amazingly small. We also had the traditional Japanese sweet treats. We enjoyed the Daifuku the most... the skin was chewy-soft and the filling was spot on. The Strawberry was a little acidic but a good contrast to the sweet-creamy filling. We did not enjoy the Dango though, the texture was a little soft to our liking. The Kuromitsu Kinako Ice Cream was a good way to end our meal but we thought Rm 13 was slightly too expensive for that portion (well its just Kuromitsu and Kinako on Vanilla Ice Cream).
