The Boomers (a Hainanese-Western restaurant) is housed within The Museum Hotel Georgetown. Diners should visit with a mindset that this place offers a menu that blends Hainanese cuisine with Western influences, creating a somewhat unique dining experience. Do not expect authentic Hainanese flavors as you might walk away disappointed. The food selection is limited, only a handful of Hainanese-Western dishes, I was hoping to see some Hainanese stir-fries on the menu but no, only those with Western influences. Price points are slightly higher but they commensurate with huge serving portions; those with small appetites should consider food sharing as an option here.

Original Hainanese Chicken Chop (Rm 27)

Aglio Olio e Peperoncino (Rm 28)

Classic Pot Pie (Rm 42)

Inchi Kabin (Rm 28)

Each order of the Classic Pot Pie requires min waiting time of 30 minutes with limited quantity available daily. If you wish to savor the Classic Pot Pie, place advance reservation to avoid disappointment. We must say we enjoyed the Classic Pot Pie a lot, the winning recipe was the pastry with bold buttery fragrance. It was crisp and delicious when served with the cream-based filling. On the filling, not overly watery and diluted; the sauce was good to cling onto the meat and vegetables. A portion of the Classic Pot Pie is good enough for 2-3 pax.

Unfortunately, we did not find ourselves enjoying the rest of the dishes. We were most disappointed with the Original Hainanese Chicken Chop, which we thought it was just Chicken Chop barely with Hainanese elements. The sauce was somewhat odd, the Worcestershire sauce factor was weak without traces of Onions. Fried Chicken Chop alone... it was okay but not quite the real thing- Hainanese Chicken Chop. Same for the Inchi Kabin, the seasoning and spices were weak, as though we were having some ordinary Fried Chicken. We did not like the Aglio Olio either, the Garlic-presence was weak and the Chili-heat was almost non-existence. The only thing we can taste was the Olives and of course... the tough-rubbery Chicken Breast.
