FETE At The Barn @ Sungai Bakap, Jawi, Penang.

Housed in a warehouse near Valdor (and Sungai Bakap), FETE At The Barn is one the latest spots to chill out and have a nice meal in the neighborhood. FETE stands out as compared to other restaurants and bars due to its spacious environment and relaxed, industrial vibe. It's easy to locate this place, just drive along the main road of Sungai Bakap and you will find this place right next to the bustling street. Food-offering wise, they offer a Western menu with a fairly big beverage menu (with plenty of alcohol options). 

We started off light with Cauli Puree with Truffle Mushroom, topped with a Soft Boiled Egg. The concoction was lovely and packed with earthy aroma, the juicy Button Mushrooms and the soft-mushy Cauli Puree worked well together... not forgetting the creamy Soft Boiled Egg. Garlic Crumble Chicken With Mashed Potatoes was alright... the Mashed Potatoes did not turn out as creamy and smooth as as expected, in fact, there were bits of the Potatoes inside for the extra texture. Unfortunately, there were some that were slightly uncooked. The Chicken was tender though... but we did not think the Berry Jam worked with the Chicken. The Pan Seared Barramundi With Couscous was less-impressive. The Couscous was a tad too dry to our liking... we could not understand the presence of Deep Fried Cauliflower either.
